Question Taken at the September 8, 2011 Daily Press Briefing

QUESTION: Are there any updates on resuming the search for the remains of U.S. service members in North Korea? Are there set plans to meet with the North Koreans to discuss this issue?

ANSWER: The United States considers remains recovery operations to be an important humanitarian mission. The United States remains committed to achieving the fullest possible accounting for U.S. POW/MIAs from the Korean War, as well as from other conflicts. We refer any questions of remains recovery operations with the D.P.R.K. to the U.S. Department of Defense.
